Home Made 4 Life® Ordering and Shipping Information

We are currently processing credit card orders by phone at 301-702-0123.  Order hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time.  Outside of those hours, orders may be left with our answering service.

How is the food packaged?  Home Made 4 Life® is made fresh to order, in small, controlled batches.  Our packaging is freezer, microwave, dishwasher safe, USDA/FDA approved for food use, leakproof, sturdy, recyclable, and reusable.

Portion Size:

For dogs, your choice of one-pound tubs or three-pound tubs.

For cats or ferrets, one-pound tubs. 

Variety:

For dogs: Home Made 4 Life® is available in your choice of Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, Beef, Goat or Rabbit.  Can't decide? You may "mix 'n match."

For cats and ferrets: we have Chicken, Turkey, Beef and Rabbit. 

Quantity:  Our minimum order is 10 lbs.

If you choose the 1 lb size, you may order Home Made 4 Life® in quantities of ten (10), twenty (20), or forty-five (45) pounds, or multiples thereof. 

If you choose the 3 lb size, you may order twelve (12), twenty-four (24) or fifty-four (54) pounds at a time, or multiples thereof.  We offer a 10% discount on all orders greater than 100 pounds.

How is the food shipped?

Your order is packed in insulated shipping boxes designed for perishable food items. Food grade ice packs are used as needed.  We do not use dry ice!

You may request delivery to your home, or to your office if you prefer.

You do not need to be home to accept delivery, as long as you can specify a safe place for the delivery person to leave your package.

Once the package is released by the delivery person, we cannot be responsible for loss, theft, or damage to the contents.

We ship Monday through Wednesday only.  Orders placed between Wednesday and Sunday will be shipped the following Monday.  We cannot be responsible for mishandling or late delivery of boxes by UPS. Shipment of perishable items is not guaranteed by any common carrier.  We will always stand behind our products 100%, but we cannot accept responsibility for shipping problems that are beyond our control.

NOTE: We prefer to ship 3-day transit items on Mondays only.

We do not offer "automatic" shipping, or accept "standing orders."  We can't see inside your freezer!   Please remember to notify us before you run out, to avoid last minute shipping emergencies!

What if it doesn't stay frozen? An Important Note.  When you open your box, you may find that some of the packages are less frozen than others. Is it still ok to use the product? Absolutely! As long as the food remains cold (i.e. refrigerator temperature) it is perfectly safe to feed to your pets.  We have tested our shipping cartons and found them to hold the food safely for up to six days.  The food may also be re-frozen in your own freezer with no worries about safety, nutrient or flavor impairment.  Thawed food keeps 3-5 days in your refrigerator.

How much does Home Made 4 Life® cost?   Please note: shipping charges are not included in the price per pound!  Shipping is additional.  These prices are our "direct from manufacturer" prices, and represent the low end of the Suggested Retail price range our retailers may charge.

 How to determine your shipping cost.

NOTE:  We do not ship to customers located in reasonable proximity to one of our  retailers.  

We do not offer "pick up" services from the Temple Hills, MD manufacturing facility.

Your order will be shipped by UPS.  Special food-grade ice packs are added as needed to the styrofoam shipping box to help maintain cold temperatures and prevent spoilage.

We ship Monday through Wednesday only.  Orders placed between Wednesday and Sunday will be shipped the following Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday).  We cannot be responsible for mishandling or late delivery of boxes by UPS.   Shipment of perishable items is not guaranteed by any common carrier.  Please be advised that we cannot compensate you for damages if your package is not received in a timely manner, unless you have chosen to use UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Overnight shipping services.

Payment Information

The most convenient way to pay for your order is by using your credit card.  Please call us for assistance: 301-702-0123.  Order hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time.  Orders placed between Wednesday and Sunday will be shipped the following Monday. NOTE: We prefer to ship 3-day transit items on Mondays only.

If you prefer to pay by check, you will need to call or email us to obtain an exact shipping quote before mailing in your check.  If your order is being shipped to an address in the state of Maryland, you must include 5% Maryland Sales Tax.   If you send a certified check or a money order, your order will be shipped immediately upon receipt of payment.  If you send a personal or business check, shipment of your order will be delayed while the bank processes your payment.  Please plan accordingly so you will not run out of Home Made 4 Life®!
