Ingredient Information

Glucosamine HCl

Known for its regenerative properties, it strengthens the joint and cartilage structures while stimulating the production of glucosaminoglycans (GAGs).  GAGs bind water within the cartilage matrix, serving as shock absorbers, and preventing deterioration of the joints.

Chondroitin Sulfate,

Green Lipped Mussel (Perna canaliculus),

Gelatin

This compound works in conjunction with Glucosamine.  It increases the production of synovial fluid (the fluid around the joint) attracting healthy nutrients, while adding increased elasticity and fluidity to the joints.   It also reduces calcium salt deposits that can increase pain and inflammation, and blocks enzymes that can destroy cartilage.  Chondroitin is derived from several different sources.  For maximum effectiveness, we chose to use a variety of these sources, including Gelatin and Green Lipped Mussel (Perna canaliculus).

Vitamin C

This vitamin is especially helpful in boosting the immune system, as well as possessing strong antioxidant properties. Most importantly for arthritis sufferers, Vitamin C aids in the synthesis of collagen, which is a building block for cartilage, tendon, and connective tissue.

Bioflavonoids

Sometimes called Vitamin P, these compounds help to strengthen capillaries and tissues.  They also work together with Vitamin C to enhance its absorption and boost its effects within the body.  Our bioflavonoids are derived from lemons.

Boswellin

The medicinal use of the Boswellia serrata tree dates back to Biblical times.  Boswellic acids, a group of compounds known as triterpenoids, are isolated from the gummy resin of this tree, which grows in India.  These herbal compounds help increase blood supply to joints, and reduce swelling and stiffness.  Boswellin is proven effective against pain and inflammation associated with arthritis, with no side effects.

Turmeric (Curcumin)

Turmeric has been used in many cultures as a spice, a flavoring and a condiment, as well as an herbal remedy, for centuries. A member of the ginger family, turmeric is a source of curcumin, which is the main active phytochemical compound in the plant.  The pharmacological properties of curcumin have been well documented; among them are its effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory helpful in treating arthritic pain and stiffness.

Manganese

This mineral greatly enhances the effects of both glucosamine and chondroitin, as well as synthesizing cartilage.

Liver Desiccated liver is added to make the tablets taste good (to a dog's palate) naturally!
