| These two lovely
Dobermans, Tara and Heidi, belong to Betsy Dayton. Just two months ago, in May of
1999, Betsy emailed the following: "I would like to feed Barf, especially to my 9 year old girl (Heidi).
She has a urine problem. She pees all the time, very large quantities and drinks
tons of water. We have had her checked for everything, no diabetes, no kidney
problems, not cushings disease, blood values are all normal, no cyrstals in urine, no
bacteria, nothing. So now they think it may be an allergy? It may very well be dog
food. I really want her off dog food like now! I don't want any more tests to tell me that
there is nothing wrong with her. She can't concentrate her urine, it is absolutely
clear and doesn't even smell like urine. Any help you could send my way would be greatly
appreciated."
After receiving assistance with
switching her dogs to a raw, fresh foods diet, here is an update from Betsy, received in
July of 1999:
"I just thought I'd write and
let you know how Heidi is doing on BARF. Well, I have great news, she is doing
beautifully, her urine is now concentrated, she is much more active and the bonus is, her
coat is a beautiful dark shiney red. She looks and feels wonderful. I did find out
that she has an allergy to grain. I gave her oatmeal one morning and by the next morning
she was peeing everywhere. So, no more oatmeal.
"Tara has chronic colitis, so
I thought what the heck, might as well try BARF on her. Guess what, no antibiotics for her
in a month, no diarrhea, just happy dog. I am so glad I swithced them to BARF. Thank
you so much for all your help, and my girls thank you!" |
